The Portland Dragons topped the Houston Aquas, 9-5, in Western Conference action at Tesoro Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Portland pitcher Charlie Petipas. The winner was Petipas. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Axel Mendiola. Portland now sits at 49-50, while Houston falls to 59-41.

The Aquas had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Dragons going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old catcher Min-chor Ann came to the plate. Ann hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Houston hurler Axel Mendiola. It was Ann's 14th double of the year.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Ann said.
