Big Day for Morita in 10-3 Athletics Win
The Kansas City Athletics coasted to a win over the Philadelphia Spectres, 10-3. Hisatoshi Morita had a good day at the plate for Kansas City. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Al Joly got the win, improving to 9-3. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The third-place Athletics are now 54-45, the Spectres 50-47.

Kansas City left fielder Alex Diaz contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 36th hit of the season and put the Athletics ahead, 2-0.
