Rangers Win, 6-4, Versus Lobster
|
Though he had a stellar game, Marcos Galarraga could not prevent his team, the Maine Lobster, from losing, 6-4, to the Buffalo Rangers. Galarraga went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Buffalo reliever Rin Sakai picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Garrett Gutierrez was tagged with the loss. Ivan Rivas earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Jon Sitterley went 1-2 with 2 walks for Buffalo. The 30-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Garrett Gutierrez. It was his 5th walk of the season.
"I thought we competed really well," said Rangers manager Alex Beckman. "I thought the energy was really good."
The Rangers, now 7-3, have been playing some good baseball.
