Jason Laux Jr. was a major factor in the 10-8 Vancouver win over Portland. The Wolves catcher went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Vancouver reliever Manny Arango picked up the win to move to 2-0. Lenny Stack suffered the loss. Vancouver is now 43-55.

Had Yuan Zhu not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Zhu hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Wolves.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Vancouver skipper Zach Meinen.
