Due in large part to left fielder Chris Brankin, the Los Angeles Stars sunk the Havana Metropolitanos, 8-2. Brankin was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The first-place Stars have won 4 in a row.
In the top of the sixth, the Stars grabbed the lead when Brankin hit his 5th home run of the season. The solo home run off Nicholas Jackson made it 3-2, Los Angeles.
"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
