The rain did not keep Brooklyn and Washington from finishing their game.
Brooklyn turned a good effort from starter Alberto Vasquez into a win over the Washington Senators at Brown Town. The Browns won the game, 7-1. Vasquez picked up the win for Brooklyn, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 9-7. Chris Jimenez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Washington had the bases loaded in the top of the eighth. With one out, Zheng-ze Gu stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he lined out. The score remained 3-1, Brooklyn. The Senators never could mount a comeback.
Brooklyn occupies third place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division at 49-48.
