Big Day for Lucero as Thunderbirds Down Friars, 7-6
The Phoenix Thunderbirds and San Francisco Friars obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Eddie Lucero knocked in 4 runs to help Phoenix beat San Francisco, 7-6. Lucero produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. David Klontz was credited with the save for Phoenix, his 4th of the season.

The Thunderbirds got a big at-bat from third baseman Andres Romo. For the game, Romo went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Phoenix a 2-0 lead.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Romo, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The first-place Friars dropped to 55-42.
