The Alaska Kodiaks earned a close win over the Los Angeles Stars, thanks in part to Alcides Zaldivar. The Alaska right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Zaldivar yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-1. Alaska is now 46-52, while Los Angeles is 49-48.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from second baseman Adir Barrabi. For the game, Barrabi went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Alaska a 2-0 lead.
