Vikings Dismiss Aquas, 4-2
|
Minneapolis Vikings starter Jose Madrid turned in a top-notch performance against the Houston Aquas at Minneapolis Grounds. The result was a win for the Vikings, 4-2. Earning his 19th save of the year was Zee-loo Kim. The first-place Vikings are 59-39.
Marvin Jackson had a big 2-run double for the Vikings in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Minneapolis leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Slider Brooks, who finished 2nd in the EC in strikeouts with 231 in 2081, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vikings ahead, 3-0.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Madrid after the game.
