Destroyers Come Up Short at Chicago, 5-4
The Chicago Phantoms did just enough to sneak past the San Diego Destroyers, 5-4, at Foster Field. Chicago pitcher Trevor Laverick, in particular, had a standout performance. Chicago, at 57-41, sits in second place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.

Nala Forcelledo, who finished 5th in the WC in wins above replacement with 6.7 in 2073, helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 2.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Forcelledo. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
