The Portland Dragons locked up a win at Sony Field at Philadelphia, knocking off the Philadelphia Spectres, 8-1. On the mound for Portland was left-hander Yahya Kanoro. He played a major role in the triumph. Kanoro picked up the win for Portland, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-4. The second-place Dragons sport a record of 52-44.

Portland center fielder Felix Sanchez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 62nd hit of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 2-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
