Las Vegas Gets 7-4 Win
|
The Las Vegas Aces beat the Los Angeles Stars, 7-4. Las Vegas pitcher and Hertford, England, native Joshua Eyres led the way. Eyres picked up the win for Las Vegas, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-3. The Stars, at 53-44, have lost 5 straight games.
Venceslau Pontes had a big 2-run double for the Aces in the top of the second inning. With Las Vegas leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Miguel Tejeda and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 4-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Pontes.
