Vikings Absorb 9-3 Home Loss
|
The Alaska Kodiaks powered past the Minneapolis Vikings, 9-3, at Minneapolis Grounds. Adir Barrabi provided some of the pop. He went 3-6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Jeff Amendola notched his 7th save in 8 chances. The first-place Vikings now sit at 56-39.
Jose Fierro was 4 for 6 with 4 singles for Alaska. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring single off Jose Ortiz. It was his 90th hit of the season.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Fierro.
