Wolves Lose, 7-3, at Seaward Stadium
|
San Diego left-hander Keaton Bozek pitched his team to victory over the Vancouver Wolves at Seaward Stadium. The final score was 7-3. Bozek, the winner, moves to 7-5. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Destroyers saw their record improve to 38-57.
Heyg Schmidt had a big bases-clearing double for the Destroyers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Diego leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Li-hong Ho, who is tied for 5th in the WC in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Destroyers ahead, 6-2.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.
