Trinidad Homers Twice in 6-2 Win

Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Minneapolis Vikings and Kansas City Athletics.
The Minneapolis Vikings beat the Kansas City Athletics by a score of 6-2. Minneapolis third baseman Javy Trinidad deserved the lion's share of the credit. Trinidad went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Vikings. Minneapolis reliever Miguel Morales picked up the win to move to 1-0. Elijah Yates suffered the loss. Jordan Zuniga wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Trinidad had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Elijah Yates, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Vikings a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Trinidad.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Minneapolis skipper Ace Cooan.
Minneapolis, with the win, is 7-3.
