Big Day for Gonzales in 9-0 Metropolitanos Win
The Havana Metropolitanos topped the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 9-0, with catcher Andy Gonzales playing a big role. Gonzales was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Metropolitanos in the win. The win puts the Metropolitanos at 40-56, while the Thunderbirds drop to 35-61.

With Havana leading 4-0 in the top of the sixth, Gonzales came up to bat against Phoenix pitcher Jay Barrientos. Gonzales hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Metropolitanos on top, 7-0.

"We were firing on all cylinders," said Metropolitanos manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
