Though he had a stellar game, Ramão Bizarro could not prevent his team, the San Diego Destroyers, from losing, 4-3, to the Los Angeles Stars. Bizarro was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. The win belonged to Dustin Kerley in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Dave Gaytan took the loss for San Diego. Raiko Leon recorded the save, making him 5 for 7.
Had Kamakana Aniani not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Aniani hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Stars.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Aniani after the game.
With the win, Los Angeles pushed its record to 48-47.
