Glaciers in Free Fall, Lose 10th Straight
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Santiago Avispas and Denver Glaciers.
Santiago pitcher Satoru Sugimoto had a large part in his team beating the Denver Glaciers, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Divino Aljeroz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. Phillip Dalley earned the save for Santiago.
Terry van de Belt had a direct impact on the outcome. van de Belt contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Santiago up, 3-2.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said van de Belt. "And vice-versa."
The hot start continues for the defending champion Avispas. This was their 9th win in 10 games.
