Slumping Vikings Lose Again
|
The Yellowknife Ravens went home winners at Minneapolis Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Luis Basurto. Basurto stifled the Minneapolis Vikings, enabling Yellowknife to grab the 5-0 win. Basurto, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. The wins continue to add up for Yellowknife. The latest makes it 7 in a row.
Yellowknife used a clutch at-bat from Jose Fierro to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Ravens ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
