Cyclones Stay Hot, Beat Greens, 2-1
|
Ryan Lloyd, who led the WC in strikeouts with 205 in 2082, pitched well, but the Boston Greens still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the Miami Cyclones at Kroger Stadium. Miami has a mark of 6-3 after the win.
Matt Lawson had a big solo home run for the Cyclones in the bottom of the second inning. With Miami leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Ryan Lloyd, who led the WC in strikeouts with 205 in 2082, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Cyclones on top, 2-0.
Lawson attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
