Thunderbirds Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win

The Phoenix Thunderbirds turned back the Maine Lobster, 4-3, at Legednary Park. Erleisi Valido, in particular, had a fine performance. He belted 2 home runs. Phoenix reliever David Klontz picked up the win, raising his record to 3-2. Gerald Blackman was tagged with the loss. The win puts Phoenix at 34-59.
The decisive blow was delivered by Andres Romo in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 32-year old right-handed pitcher Gerald Blackman to win the game for Phoenix. The home crowd went nuts.
Phoenix manager Joe Busch praised his team's "energy."
