Metropolitanos Lose By a Run at Los Angeles
|
The Los Angeles Stars, despite a fine performance by Havana pitcher Bobby Alkire, grabbed a 3-2 win at Stars Ballpark. Alkire allowed no runs over 6.1 innings. Touta Kubo claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 2-0. Earning the save was Raiko Leon. He's now cashed in 18 of 19 save opportunities.
Los Angeles took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Ricky Rangel hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Stars.
Rangel said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
