Phantoms Stay Hot, Beat Metropolitanos, 2-1
|
Chicago right-hander Will Spangenberg helped his team edge Havana by the score of 2-1. Spangenberg kept the opposing lineup in check. Spangenberg got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Tso-i Mak. He's now 3 for 5 in save chances.
Chicago left fielder Cody McLaughlin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Phantoms ahead, 2-1.
"I like how we're playing right now," said McLaughlin.
The third-place Phantoms have won 5 in a row.
