Walker Helps Avispas Defeat Cyclones, 17-5
|
Santiago designated hitter Innis Walker was instrumental in helping the Avispas triumph, 17-5, over the Miami Cyclones. Walker was 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3. Aaron Ranks picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-0 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 0 in 5 innings, while yielding 1 run. With the loss, Miami drops to 6-3.
Early in the game, third baseman Terry van de Belt had a 2-run double for Santiago. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Avispas on top, 2-0.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Santiago skipper Jacob Pauly.
