Sierra Slugs Twins to 13-6 Win
|
Alex Sierra made an impact in the 13-6 Cincinnati win over Boston. Sierra, who finished 4th in the EC in home runs with 37 last year, was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The loss makes Boston 51-38.
With Cincinnati leading 8-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Sierra came up to bat against Boston pitcher Nestor Duque. Sierra hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put the Twins on top, 11-4.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
