Yellowknife Beaten, 9-6, by San Diego
|
The San Diego Destroyers weathered a fine game by Yellowknife center fielder Marcos Hiciano to upend the Ravens, 9-6, at Ragged Ass Road. Hiciano was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. San Diego pitcher Brent Lannin earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Jeff Amendola suffered the loss. Picking up the save was former first round draft pick Rikio Kaneko.
San Diego used the timely hitting of Tucker Adrian to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Destroyers on top, 9-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Yellowknife manager Alex King.
Yellowknife is 6-4 after the defeat.
