Destroyers Get 4th Straight Win with Late Rally
The San Diego Destroyers withstood a fine game by Minneapolis third baseman Javy Trinidad at Seaward Stadium, to upend the Vikings, 5-4. Trinidad went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kurt Bozek closed the door for San Diego, picking up his 7th save of the year. The last-place Destroyers have won 4 consecutive games.

Michael Keding went 1 for 3 with a walk for San Diego. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Keding, who is tied for 7th in the WC in bases on balls with 49, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Minneapolis hurler Katsuo Nozawa, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Destroyers a 5-4 lead.

"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
