The Buffalo Rangers got a superb performance from pitcher Jose Nereida, but the Houston Aquas still won the game, 5-4. Nereida threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Houston reliever Jose Garces was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Matt Kloser. Ron Gelsomino earned the save for Houston, his 4th.

Houston took a 4-3 lead on Ricky Zika's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Zika hit in the top of the seventh, left Buffalo pitcher Matt Kloser visibly frustrated.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," Zika said.

Houston goes to 55-33, Buffalo to 46-41.
