Vikings Reel In 10-5 Win
|
The Minneapolis Vikings topped the Havana Metropolitanos, 10-5, the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Leonilde Tigre. On the day, Tigre went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Vikings. The Vikings improved their record to 52-37 with the win over Havana.
With Minneapolis leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Tigre hit a sinker from Bobby Alkire for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 6-1.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Tigre. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
