Senators Top Boston, 3-2
|
Washington turned a good performance from starting pitcher Rajam Masrani into a 3-2 triumph over the Boston Greens in 10 innings at Arrington Park. The win belonged to Julio Mendoza in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Raudel Hernandez took the loss for Boston. Washington is in last place in the Eastern Conference Zounes Kamuzu Division with a record of 36-52.
Washington used the timely hitting of Eddie Leahy to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Senators on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Tough loss," said Boston manager Matt Glazer. "But we'll rebound from it."
