Thunderbirds Edge Past Stars, 5-4

Los Angeles first baseman Kamakana Aniani was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Phoenix beat the Stars, 5-4. Picking up his 1st save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Forbes Kopecky. Phoenix goes to 3-6.
Vic Sanchez came through with a big-time hit for Phoenix. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's a long season," said Sanchez. "We'll keep working to improve."
