Montreal got a big-time effort from pitcher Huggy Bruce, but it wasn't enough to keep the Cincinnati Twins from winning the game, 3-2. Bruce threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Macario Mendoza earned his 6th save, after closing out the game. The Twins saw their record improve to 42-44.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bobby Tapia? The 23-year old third baseman Tapia stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Montreal manager Brendan Henry.
