Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Washington Senators and Miami Cyclones.

The Washington Senators defeated the Miami Cyclones, 7-3. Second Baseman Zheng-ze Gu deserved a large share of the credit. Gu was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Senators. Xiong Loh nailed down his 4th save.

In the top of the second inning of a 0-0 tie, Washington left fielder Alex Tejeda reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Washington on top, 1-0.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Miami skipper Chris Stephan.

Today's win puts Washington at 35-53, while Miami falls to 38-48.
