Boston Greens starter Tien-kai Ec turned in a top-notch performance against the Washington Senators at Arrington Park. The result was a win for the Greens, 10-1. The 4th-place Greens improved to 40-46.

Ec, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 9 in 7 innings and gave up 1 run.

Ec moves to 1-0 on the year with 11 strikeouts.

"When Tien-kai is in the zone, it's kind of like -- good luck," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
