Phantoms Rally to Win
The Chicago Phantoms did just enough to secure a victory over the Portland Dragons, 3-2, in 11 innings at Foster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Trevor Laverick. The win was credited to 19-year veteran Simone Banatoni in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Jimmy Witmer took the loss. The first-place Phantoms bumped their record to 52-36.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ron Jollymour in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jimmy Witmer to win the game for Chicago. The home crowd went nuts.
