Toronto Earns 5-4 Win
|
The Toronto Juggernauts picked up a win at Estadio Latinoamericano, knocking off the Havana Metropolitanos, 5-4. Starting pitcher Carl Rodda played a key role in the triumph. The win belonged to Edwin Bonomi in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Andino D'Elia took the loss for Havana. The win takes Toronto to 3-6.
Ricardo Garrido came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I love playing this game, so you'll never see me not want to go out there and pitch," said Rodda.
