The Tucson Toros defeated the Alaska Kodiaks, 3-2, in Western Conference action at Tundradome. Tucson pitcher Miguel Moquete had a standout performance. Tom Parmenter was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-5. The losing pitcher was David Klontz. With the win, Tucson has a record of 39-48. Alaska falls to 40-48.

Had Matt Linkous not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Linkous hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Toros.

"Tough loss," said Alaska manager Alex King. "But that's how the chips sometimes fall."
