Thunderbirds Go Down to Defeat, 5-2
|
Dave Palacios powered the Philadelphia Spectres to a win over the Phoenix Thunderbirds. The final score was 5-2. The Philadelphia designated hitter, who is tied for 9th in the EC in RBI with 57, was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 45-41.
Early in the game, Palacios had a bases-clearing double for Philadelphia. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Spectres on top, 3-0.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Palacios told the Philadelphia Bulletin. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
