San Francisco beat Portland at Staples Field, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Hank Snook. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times. At 42-45, the Friars are currently 4th in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.

The Friars were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 23-year old center fielder Bryce Gekas landed a big blow. He turned a 1-0 curveball from Ryan Mena into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Staples Field denizens into a frenzy and sent the Friars home with a thrilling 7-6 win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Snook said in his postgame press conference.
