|
Montreal starter Masaru Uno clamped down on the Washington offense, while his team sailed to victory, 11-0. Uno, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The setback makes Washington 35-51.
One pivotal at-bat came in the top of the eighth with one out. With the bases loaded and the Senators trailing 9-0, Masaru Uno needed to make a quality pitch. He threw a 2-2 knuckle curve to retire Sung-hyo Kym, who struck out.
