The Santiago Avispas and Washington Senators obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

The Santiago Avispas besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Washington left fielder Alex Tejeda by beating the Senators, 6-5, at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Tejeda went 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Rico Sustaita in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Josh Breaux took the loss. Ricardo Riveron nailed down his 26th save.

Terry van de Belt, who is tied for 7th in the EC in triples with 4, helped out the Santiago cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I like our mindset right now," said Santiago manager Jacob Pauly.

The Avispas, now 62-22, have won 6 in a row.
