Cyclones Turn Away Titans, 6-5
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Miami Cyclones and New York Titans.
Jeremy Ruzicka had a good game, but he could not keep the New York Titans from falling, 6-5, to the Miami Cyclones at Kroger Stadium. The New York first baseman went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times in the loss. Miami reliever Danny Rangel was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Nick Tamulevich. The save was credited to Nestor Fajardo, his 12th.
Yuki Soma had a big solo home run for the Cyclones in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Miami leading 5-4 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from Nick Tamulevich, who finished 4th in the EC in strikeouts with 210 in 2080, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Cyclones on top, 6-4.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Soma.
The setback makes New York 47-38.
