Juggernauts Deal Athletics 3-1 Defeat
|
Al Joly pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Kansas City Athletics, despite Joly's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Toronto Juggernauts at Molson Park. The win was credited to 28-year old right-handed pitcher Fabian Estrada in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Al Joly took the loss. The save was credited to Ignacio Noriega, his 16th.
Toronto took the lead, 2-1, on Matt Salmon's 22nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Kansas City pitcher Al Joly in the bottom of the seventh.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Juggernauts manager Marc Arnold.
The loss makes Kansas City 45-40.
