Washington Drops Buffalo, 4-3
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Washington Senators got the win.
The Washington Senators topped the Buffalo Rangers, 4-3, in Eastern Conference action at Bison Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Xianyang, China, native Kai-xi Jia. Jia picked up the win for Washington, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Rogelio Domínguez earned the save, his 1st, for the Senators.
Luisbanis Valido, who led the EC in batting average with .315 in 2074, had a direct impact on the outcome. Valido contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Washington up, 4-3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
With the loss, Buffalo drops to 5-3.
