The Denver Glaciers picked up a win at Mountain Dew Park, topping the Minneapolis Vikings, 3-1. On the mound for Denver was right-hander Earl Starr. He played a principal role in the triumph. Denver is second in the Western Conference John Sexton Division with a record of 44-40.

Ramon Chirino had a big solo home run for the Glaciers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Denver leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Joseph Stark and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Glaciers ahead, 3-1.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Starr said.
