Phantoms Beaten By Friars, 6-4
|
Chicago second baseman Yifu Chen was sensational. He went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. San Francisco beat the Phantoms, 6-4. San Francisco reliever Lewis Wyman picked up the win to move to 1-1. Craig Kruppenbacher suffered the loss. Jose Alonzo earned the save for San Francisco.
Sean Oehlert had a big 2-run home run for the Friars in the bottom of the first inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from Craig Kruppenbacher, who finished 5th in the EC in ERA with 3.16 in 2081, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Friars on top, 3-0.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Oehlert said. "That's why you play the game."
With the win, San Francisco elevates its record to 5-4.
