Late Offense Lifts Phoenix to 6-3 Victory
The Phoenix Thunderbirds defeated the Tucson Toros, 6-3, in Western Conference action at Aetna Stadium. Phoenix pitcher Eikki Hostikka had a standout performance. With the win over Tucson, the Thunderbirds improved to 34-48.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Eddie Lucero? The 24-year old third baseman Lucero stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Phoenix up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"All in all, I thought Eikki pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Phoenix manager Joe Busch.
