The Minneapolis Vikings faced a tough opponent in Phoenix pitcher Henry Escobedo, but still scratched out a win at Legednary Park by a final score of 5-1 in 12 innings. Escobedo went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Minneapolis leads the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division by 2½ games.

Minneapolis used the timely hitting of Roy Cunningham to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Vikings on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Cunningham.
