The Tucson Toros picked up a win at Stars Ballpark, knocking off the Los Angeles Stars, 6-4. Starting pitcher Feng Shuai was a big reason why. Shuai yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-7. The Toros now have a mark of 41-42.
Tucson took a 4-1 lead on Mario Flores's 2nd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Flores hit in the top of the eighth, left Los Angeles pitcher Jason Petruska visibly frustrated.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Shuai.
