The Kansas City Athletics downed the Chicago Phantoms, 9-8. The hitting star was center fielder D.J. Trigg. Trigg was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Athletics. Kansas City reliever Elijah Yates got the win, raising his record to 3-5. Danny Galaviz was tagged with the loss. The win makes Kansas City 44-39.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Kansas City right fielder Hisatoshi Morita, facing Andy Miao, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Athletics the 9-8 win.
