Glaciers Make It 5 Straight with 5-2 Win
|
Denver left-hander Tetsukazu Kaneda pitched his team to victory over the Portland Dragons at Mountain Dew Park. The final score was 5-2. Denver is in second place in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division with a record of 45-36.
Edgar Malhado had a big 2-run home run for the Glaciers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Denver trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from Yahya Kanoro, the 7th overall pick in the 2079 draft, and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Glaciers on top, 3-2.
Malhado said his team "played with a purpose."
