Kawasaki Hits 2 home runs in Aces Win
|
The Las Vegas Aces licked the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-4. Manichiro Kawasaki deserved a big chunk of the credit. The third baseman slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Aces. B.J. Baker, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 3-1. With the victory, the Aces upped their record to 41-39.
Las Vegas won the game in part because of Bobby Brito. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Aces ahead, 5-2. For the game, Brito had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
