Aces Win, 5-4, Versus Houston
|
The Las Vegas Aces picked up a win at Western Coliseum, knocking off the Houston Aquas, 5-4. Starting pitcher Pablo Alvarez was a big reason why. Dave Fife notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 3-4. Ricardo Riveron earned the save for Las Vegas, his 16th of the year.
Las Vegas took a 5-4 lead on Sardis Abrego's 15th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Abrego hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Ron Gelsomino visibly frustrated.
Abrego told a Las Vegas Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Aces move to 36-45 with the win, while the Aquas drop to 50-30.
